Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (499) - THE POLICE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
LONDON CITY was withdrawn on 13.3.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, LONDON CITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SIR REDALOT began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped GENEROUS HEART.
GREAT PROFIT began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of SIR REDALOT which became unbalanced, causing further crowding to GENEROUS HEART.
I'M THE CONQUIST, which was racing inside GENEROUS HEART, was hampered in consequence.
From the outside barriers, WAYFOONG VINNIE and AMAZING MOMENT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, DOUBLE VALENTINE commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY METEOR.
Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, GREAT PROFIT raced tight outside DOUBLE VALENTINE which got its head on the side and lay out.
WAYFOONG VINNIE was held up for clear running from on straightening until passing the 200 Metres.
GENEROUS HEART lost its left hind plate near the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of GREAT PROFIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GENEROUS HEART and SIR REDALOT were sent for sampling.

Generous Heart came on strongly after travelling fourth from the rear to win going away 50m out for a second win this term. Favourite Sir Redalot closed well travelling one off in midfield to just nap Double Valentine for second. He was giving the winner too much of an advantage in the weights. Punted late Double Valentine grudgingly gave way after surging to the lead 200m out following a box-seat run. He isn't far off a win after turning the corner in three of his past four sprints at both tracks. High Five got going late without threatening the placegetters after a patient ride third from the rear. He pops up now and then but is well rated off a winning run last season. Wayfoong Vinnie couldn't gain a clear run until the 150 when winding up from near last. He should have finished closer but isn't genuine. I'm The Conquist kept on all right following a midfield run. He hasn't gone all that badly in his past two of three starts.
