Recap by phillip woo
Raging favourite Ping Hai Star was boxed in early straight after trailing the field but finished brilliantly when gaining a run at the 350m to win going away at the 100m for a third straight win over this trip. Kingsfield kept on gamely for second after clearing to lead on the fence at the 850m. He's racing well and just found one better on this occasion. Circuit Glory ran on steadily third from the rear to fill a placing. It was a better run following a stable change but may require a bit more time to hit his best stride. New Asia Sunrise eased back after jumping alertly to travel one off in third, came at the lead approaching the final bend and was on his tippy toes 150m out. He's still in the grip of the handicapper despite a runner-up effort two back. Jolly Jolly couldn't turn it up another gear following a midfield run on the fence. It was a below par performance. Star Majestic never came on travelling second from the rear. He's had his time in the limelight already this term.
