Recap by phillip woo
Firming late Time Warp was pestered for the lead by Helene Charisma and found another wind when Werther levelled up at the 150m to edge clear late in track record time. He's stamped himself as favourite for Horse of the Year. Werther came to win the race following a one-off run ahead of midfield at the 200m but found one better in the end. He lost nothing in defeat. Seasons Bloom came on nicely after travelling third from the rear but found a couple too classy over this trip. He's better at a mile. Pakistan Star kept on well after rushing forward to sit fourth along the fence following a poor start. He's still his own worst enemy but it was a solid first run in eight months. Both Gold Mount and Eagle Way ran on without menacing from the back of the field. They both need a further trip. Dinozzo was gassed 200m out after chasing a hot pace facing the breeze in third.
