Super Form patiently waited for a run which arrived 250m out after travelling behind midfield on the fence to win going away 50m out after a first-up win and few luckless runs from his opening six runs at the Valley. Early favourite Unicron Jewellery kept grinding away after launching his bid travelling outside Super Form at the 500m to just wear down Everest for second. Punted late Everest wouldn't go down without a fight after finding the front from a tricky gate. The penny might have dropped with him following a last-start win in Class Four. Plunged late Agree grudgingly gave way after stalking the leader from the widest gate to just finish out of the placings to continue his purple patch of form of late. Gold Land ran on without menacing after travelling fourth from the rear. He's only a point off a winning mark earlier in the term at the Valley and can pop up at any time.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven: (457) - CITI INSURANCE SERVICES HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

NEW ELEGANCE began only fairly.

After the 1100 Metres, FEARLESS FIRE commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of UNICRON JEWELLERY.

Passing the 600 Metres, UNICRON JEWELLERY shifted out abruptly away from the heels of LADY FIRST which also shifted out after being awkwardly placed behind WINWIN RUBY.

Passing the 400 Metres, FEARLESS FIRE raced tight inside GOLD LAND.

Apprentice H T Mo (CHIMBORAA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that at the entrance to the Straight he directed his mount out when not clear of NEW ELEGANCE, resulting in that horse being severely checked when crowded for room inside WINWIN RUBY.

Apprentice Mo was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 14 March 2018 and to expire on Monday, 19 March 2018 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, Apprentice Mo was fined $35,000.

Passing the 300 Metres, the whip of K Teetan (AMAZING AGILITY) became entangled in his reins.

Passing the 200 Metres, LADY FIRST raced tight between AGREE and UNICRON JEWELLERY which lay in.

LADY FIRST then continued to race tight between UNICRON JEWELLERY and AGREE which shifted out marginally under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of NEW ELEGANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of RAZOR QUEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LADY FIRST, SUPER FORM and UNICRON JEWELLERY were sent for sampling.

Race 6 (443) For the majority of the race, CALIFORNIA WHIP travelled wide and without cover.

Race 8 (445) Near the 650 Metres, COMFORT LIFE got its head up when being checked away from the heels of FAIRY TWINS.

C.

Race 9 (446) After being disappointed for running, CHATER LEGEND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AFFLUENCE START passing the 200 Metres and approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the inside of AFFLUENCE START to obtain clear running.

Omission from Racing Incidents Report of 21 February 2018 Happy Valley Racemeeting - Race 6 (443) When questioned, Apprentice H T Mo stated that he was instructed to lead on SEA JADE, however, if the rider of another runner was intent on obtaining a forward position, it was acceptable for him to take cover on SEA JADE rather than continue to press his mount to lead.

He said after riding his mount along in the early stages to take up a forward position, he noticed that E-SUPER was being aggressively ridden from a wide barrier to take up the lead and therefore approaching the 1000 Metres he elected to take a sit off that horse.

He said after obtaining cover behind E-SUPER, he attempted to shift his mount to the outside of that horse passing the 600 Metres, however, MR GENUINE was able to improve its position at this time which resulted in SEA JADE racing tight inside MR GENUINE and being awkwardly placed close to the heels of E-SUPER.

He agreed that in hindsight he had been too slow to shift his mount to the outside of E-SUPER as there was ample opportunity for him to do that after the 700 Metres prior to MR GENUINE improving its position.

Apprentice Mo was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he must ensure that he is alert to opportunities to obtain advantageous positions when they present themselves.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 21 February 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of HAPPY SOUND, WINFULL PATROL, KING'S STEED, PACKING DRAGON, WINNER'S WAY, SHARP HUNTER, SUPER JUNIOR, SMART DECLARATION, LOOK ERAS, SICHUAN BOSS, GLORY STAR, BORN IN CHINA, HOUSE OF FUN, ENSURING, SHARP SAILOR, ACCLAIMED LIGHT, IVICTORY, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL, IMPERIAL GALLANTRY and HIGH VOLATILITY revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of GOLDEN DASH, REFINED TREASURE, GOKO, ULTIMATE GLORY, TANG FLEMING, TRAVEL FIRST, CALCULATION, AGREE, DIAMOND DRAGON, GOLDIE FLANKER, STARTLING POWER, ELITE BOY, PLANET STAR, LUCKY TIME, DIAMOND FRIENDS, ELUSIVE STATE, KIROV, CONTE, EASY GO EASY WIN, APOLLO'S CHOICE, ROYAL MOJITO, STRATHCLYDE, UGLY WARRIOR, WINNING VANGOGH, HOUSE OF FUN, PERPETUAL JOYANCE and MARVEL TRIBE (10.2.18) proved negative.
