Simply Brilliant won going away at the 150m following a one-off run in midfield carrying top weight for an overdue win after placing behind some nice types in his opening four starts. Sacred Ibis closed furiously after being ridden cold as usual to finish a clear-cut second to continue his solid run of form this term at 1,400m and a mile. Sun Touch stuck on gamely after facing the breeze in second from a wide gate. He's gained some confidence following a short stint in Class Four and should remain competitive off a light weight in this grade. Firming late in betting Dukedom closed off reasonably well travelling behind midfield on the fence. He's well rated on a win last season off a mark of 75 and can pop up at any time. Specked late Mighty Maverick gave a better sight after clearing to the lead from a wide gate in his best run of the season.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven: (437) - KUT CHEONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

On entering the track, GREEN CARD became very fractious and made heavy contact with a rail which resulted in its rider, U Rispoli, being dislodged.

GREEN CARD then galloped for a considerable distance riderless.

Acting on veterinary advice that GREEN CARD was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, GREEN CARD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SIR REDALOT began awkwardly.

SACRED IBIS was crowded for room on jumping between SUN TOUCH and SUNNY WAY which shifted in.

After this, SACRED IBIS was ridden along for a considerable distance to maintain contact with the field.

After initially being ridden along in the early stages, A BEAUTIFUL was steadied passing the 1300 Metres to obtain cover.

Passing the 800 Metres, REGENCY BO BO got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER HOPPY.

After this, REGENCY BO BO and ROUNDABOUT raced tight as REGENCY BO BO continued to race close to the heels of SUPER HOPPY.

Passing the 700 Metres, DUKEDOM was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CAPTAIN BOSS.

Also passing the 700 Metres, SIR REDALOT got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SIMPLY BRILLIANT.

Rounding the Home Turn, SUPER HOPPY and SUN TOUCH raced tight.

Passing the 150 Metres, DUKEDOM was shifted in away from the heels of SUN TOUCH which lay in under pressure.

In the Straight, A BEAUTIFUL lay in under pressure.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on REGENCY BO BO at the request of Trainer A S Cruz.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, REGENCY BO BO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SUPER HOPPY and ROUNDABOUT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SIMPLY BRILLIANT and SACRED IBIS were sent for sampling.
