Recap by phillip woo
Packing Dragon was pestered for the lead by Prawn Baba, shot just over a length clear upon straightening and just held on by a whisker in a blanket finish for a fifth win from 12 starts over this Valley trip. He had been off his game this season but the claimer's allowance with a downgrade was the right recipe for success. Prawn Baba kept on gamely after chasing the leader to his outside to make it close on the wire. He appears the dirt and the Valley to his liking in his past three starts. Rickfield closed steadily following a prominent run to make it close on the wire. He's clearly a winner waiting to happen if he can get back in to Class Three. Happilababy wasn't far off the placing following a prominent run on the fence. Like Rickfield, he has been racing consistently without winning at this level but will be a force to be reckoned in Class Three. Victory Boys was best of the backmarkers after proving a nuisance to favourite Marvel Hero and Consort at the start.
