Recap by phillip woo

Money Boy just hung on after working to the front 80m out following a one-out, one back run for an overdue win after knocking on the door in six of eight starts this term. Specked late General Iron came with a bold move after travelling fourth from the rear to make it close on the wire. He's gone well in his past four starts and can breakthrough at any time. Favourite Encore Boy filled a placing but was a bit wayward when placed under pressure following a one-off run in midfield. He's still learning but has shown ability as a sprinter at both tracks. Old-timer Ocean Roar kept on surprisingly well despite getting softened early on for the front by Moment Of Power. He can add to a November win if he can find his way back into Class Four. Moment Of Power gradually faded after stalking the speed. He never runs a bad race but requires a claimer's allowance. Circuit King was further back than usual in midfield and failed to lift when popped the question.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (333) - CAUSEWAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters

LUCKY GUY began only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of MR RIGHT which was taken out by MOMENT OF POWER.

KHAKI began only fairly.

Shortly after the start, CIRCUIT KING was crowded for room between TRIUMPHANT JEWEL which shifted out and MONEY BOY which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by GENERAL IRON.

After this, GENERAL IRON was shifted across behind runners.

Also from a wide barrier, WAYFOONG VINNIE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

After travelling a short distance, ENCORE BOY shifted out and brushed PEACE N PROSPERITY.

At the entrance to the Straight, ENCORE BOY shifted out and bumped PEACE N PROSPERITY.

When questioned, K C Leung stated that he was asked to try and lead on MR RIGHT if the horse showed sufficient speed to be able to cross the two horses directly to its inside, in particular MOMENT OF POWER which was drawn immediately inside MR RIGHT.

He said MOMENT OF POWER began very well and clearly showed more early speed than MR RIGHT and as it appeared that MOMENT OF POWER would race outside OCEAN ROAR, he elected to take up a position behind the leaders rather than racing in a three wide position without cover.

He said after initially racing keenly leaving the 800 Metres, MR RIGHT commenced to travel well, however, was inclined to lay out rounding the turn after the 600 Metres.

He said making the Home Turn when racing tight inside MOMENT OF POWER, MR RIGHT ran out across the heels of that horse, resulting in MR RIGHT being severely checked and losing ground.

He added after this he balanced MR RIGHT up and placed it under pressure, however, the horse gave ground noticeably in the Straight A veterinary inspection of MR RIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of MR RIGHT, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MR RIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

ENCORE BOY, MONEY BOY and GENERAL IRON were sent for sampling.
