Recap by phillip woo

Thumped to jump favourite Golden Glory got up passing the 150m for the win after peeling out coming to the final bend following a prominent run on the fence with the claim negating a six-point penalty. Winning Boy finished well near the outside following a oneoff run worse than midfield to finish a non-threatening second. Old-timer's run well in two of three runs this term for his new trainer and might be able to get away with a race shortly. Trendiful ran on steadily sitting midfield on the fence to fill a placing. The gate was the key to his improved run. Raichu was making headway late after travelling third from the rear from a wide gate. He's run with merits in his past three starts and might be looking forward to a longer trip. Kim Glory worked too hard to lead from a wide gate. He'll be hard to catch from a better draw. Early favourite Real Deal was stopping 150m out after stalking the speed one off in second.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (266) - DANDELION HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

As the start was effected, HAYMAKER put its head down and then stood flat-footed, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground.

Having regard to HAYMAKER's recent history in respect of being slow to begin, the Stewards ruled that the horse must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again.

SCARBOROUGH FAIR shifted out at the start, resulting in TRENDIFUL being crowded for room inside OTOUTO.

This resulted in all three horses becoming badly unbalanced.

A short distance after the start, GOLDEN GLORY got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in SCARBOROUGH FAIR being taken out onto TRENDIFUL which became unbalanced when buffeted for room for some distance inside OTOUTO which also became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by TRENDIFUL.

Passing the 1100 Metre, OTOUTO, which remained unbalanced after being crowded for room outside SCARBOROUGH FAIR, was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WINNING BOY which shifted in marginally.

STRIKING STAR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Passing the 900 Metres, WINNING BOY raced in restricted room between FOREVER FUN and SCARBOROUGH FAIR which got its head on the side and shifted out away from GOLDEN GLORY.

Approaching the 700 Metres, FOREVER FUN was left racing wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WINNING BOY had sustained a small cut to the left front pastern.

A veterinary inspection of SCARBOROUGH FAIR and CATCHMEIFYOUCAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of FOREVER FUN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, FOREVER FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GOLDEN GLORY and WINNING BOY were sent for sampling.
