Borntoachieve got up close to home for an upset win after sitting handy in the run on the fence from a good gate. The feather weight worked in his favour but he was nicely rated on a past surface-and-trip success. Firming favourite Strathclyde surged to the front soon after straightening after a deep run chasing the leaders and found one better on the day. The 13 pounds was too much to give the winner but he remains one to follow on this surface. Pakistan Baby finished well after travelling third from the rear to fill a placing. He rarely runs a bad race on this surface but may need a downgrade to clear the last hurdle. Primero kept on reasonably well after being hard ridden to lead from a tricky gate. He's gone a lot better to pick up cheques in three of five on both surfaces this term but may need a bit more relief in the ratings. Super Wise closed off well after settling second from the rear in his first outing of the campaign. He's shown ability in his seven starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (221) - CHEVALIER ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

WINNERS FOLLOW ME was withdrawn on 24.11.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore tendon injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MR RIGHT (M L Yeung).

Before being allowed to race again, WINNERS FOLLOW ME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SAUL'S SPECIAL began only fairly.

ARIZONA BLIZZARD was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

From a wide barrier, SUPER WISE was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Approaching the 700 Metres, ROMAN ODYSSEY was momentarily eased away from the heels of NUCLEAR POWER which shifted in.

MR RIGHT lay out in the middle stages and then at the entrance to the Straight became unbalanced after shifting out and racing tight inside PRIMERO.

STAR OF YAN OI lay in under pressure in the Straight.

Throughout the race, NUCLEAR POWER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of STAR OF YAN OI and NUCLEAR POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BORNTOACHIEVE and STRATHCLYDE were sent for sampling.
