Amazing Star parked outside the leader from a wide gate, hit the front 320m out and drew clear to win convincingly at his second start to repay loyal supporters following a first-up defeat as a short-priced favourite. He's got a bright future. Odds-on favourite Alcari stayed on a clear second after enjoying a lovely run on the back of the speed. The eight-pound weight swing with the winner and rise in trip was too much to overcome after a first-up win but he's still a nice one heading forward. Lucky Stryker ran on steadily from midfield to edge out Lucky Lucky for a placing in an improved effort at his third start and first of the term. He appears to have made some progress during the break. Lucky Lucky was on his tippy toes 100m out after leading from a middle gate. He's steadily showing progress in his four starts. Amazing Satchmo came on travelling fourth from the rear without menacing.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (163) - KATE HANDICAP - Class 4R - 1200Meters

Whilst in the saddling stalls, XIANG HUANG QI had its right front plate refitted.

XIANG HUANG QI was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

IMPECCABLE FELLOW, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and lost ground.

On jumping, AMAZING SATCHMO was steadied away from the heels of FRIENDO which was taken in by ALCARI.

From the outside barrier, XIANG HUANG QI was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, ALL YOU KNOW was awkwardly placed between BINGO and ALCARI which shifted out.

At the entrance to the Straight, N Callan (AMAZING SATCHMO) momentarily dropped his left rein.

Over the concluding stages, IMPECCABLE FELLOW was awkwardly placed behind LUCKY LUCKY and consequently was not ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

Throughout the race, BINGO travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

AMAZING STAR and ALCARI were sent for sampling.
