Racing Incident Report
Race One: (155) - TSIM MEI FUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
A FAST ONE began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, D Whyte, becoming unbalanced.
VICTOR EMPEROR stumbled at the start.
FOXBAT began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY SOUND which shifted in.
From a wide barrier, TRENDIFUL was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
After being ridden along in the early stages, SNOWHOOVES failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners.
After the 900 Metres, RAINBOW GOLD was left racing wide and without cover.
Shortly after entering the Straight, A FAST ONE raced tight inside ORIENTAL FANTASIA which improved into tight running inside DOUBLE MASTER.
A FAST ONE continued to race tight inside ORIENTAL FANTASIA for some distance after this due to DOUBLE MASTER, which was commencing to give ground, shifting in near the 300 Metres, resulting in both A FAST ONE and ORIENTAL FANTASIA being hampered.
In the early part of the Straight, VICTOR EMPEROR was held up for clear running and passing the 300 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SMILING GLORY when attempting to improve between that horse which shifted out and RAINBOW GOLD.
Approaching the 200 Metres, DYNAMIC LIONS was held up for clear running.
Approaching the 50 Metres, A FAST ONE was shifted out away from the heels of HAPPY SOUND when that horse shifted out under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of VICTOR EMPEROR and SMILING GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FOXBAT and A FAST ONE were sent for sampling.

Foxbat came on strongly widest out after trailing the field following a slow break to get up in deep stretch for a maiden win at his eighth start and first on the surface. Favourite A Fast One ran on steadily near the inside travelling behind midfield to get up in the last stride for second in a blanket finish for the minors. He's a winner waiting to happen on either surface if he remains in the class. Punted late Happy Sound grudgingly gave way after getting his own way in front. He has been racing well without winning. Rainbow Gold stayed on well following a deep run in midfield to fill a Quartet spot. He's stuck on reasonably well in three of four sprints on this surface but there isn't any suitable 1,400m dirt races in the racing calendar. Snowhooves was doing some nice work late from the back after switching off from a wide gate. He should be able to atone if he can draw a good barrier over this surface and trip.
