Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (154) - YIP FAT HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
JUMBO LUCK shifted out at the start and bumped KEY WITNESS.
SEA JADE and DALRADIAN bumped on jumping.
Shortly after the start, HOUSE OF FUN shifted out and bumped SOUTHERN LEGEND.
From wide barriers, SOUTHERN LEGEND and MR GENUINE were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 850 Metres, HOUSE OF FUN was steadied away from the heels of VERBINSKY (S Clipperton) which shifted in when not properly clear.
After this, HOUSE OF FUN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VERBINSKY.
S Clipperton was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear of other runners prior to shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, MR GENUINE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LINE SEEKER.
Passing the 300 Metres, JUMBO LUCK raced in restricted room inside DALRADIAN when improving into tight running inside that horse.
Passing the 200 Metres, LINE SEEKER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEA JADE after being disappointed for running between that horse and MR GENUINE which improved quickly to the inside of LINE SEEKER.
Then passing the 150 Metres, LINE SEEKER was checked when attempting to improve between MR GENUINE and SEA JADE where there was insufficient room.
For the majority of the race, ALMABABY travelled wide and without cover.
SOUTHERN LEGEND and MR GENUINE were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

14 October 2017 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 8 (116) At the racemeeting on 14 October 2017, the Stewards informed Mr T P Yung, the trainer of FORTUNE BO BO and SUPER JUNIOR, that they would review the previous racing history of both horses before deciding on the most appropriate way for the inquiry into the manner in which those horses were ridden to proceed.
After reviewing the racing history of particularly FORTUNE BO BO, the Stewards accepted that Mr Yung's instructions for that horse to lead SUPER JUNIOR were appropriate in the circumstances given that FORTUNE BO BO had led or raced in a forward position in a number of its races and in particular in a number of its race wins.
In respect of SUPER JUNIOR racing on the inside rail and the pre-race intention for FORTUNE BO BO to race similarly towards the inside rail, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Mr Yung of the importance to have regard to all the relevant factors when providing his riders with instructions in the future so as to ensure that horses are given every opportunity to win or to obtain the best possible placing.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 25 October 2017 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of HAPPILABABY, ENSURING, VICTORY FOLLOW ME, SPICY DOUBLE, GOBI STORM, CLOUD NINE, THE JAZZ, SPEEDY KING, PEACE COMBINATION, MANFUL STAR, LOOK ERAS, EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE, HAPPY AND HEALTHY, UNIQUE HAPPIEST, DR WIN WIN, LUCKY GIRL, STARLIGHT and G-ONE LOVER revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of WINNING CONTROLLER, OUR HONOUR, KIM GLORY, CHEERFULJET, LONDON MASTER, BEAUTY CONNECTION, WAH MAY BABY, POLYMER LUCK, FUN MANAGER, FRUITFUL LIFE, GOLD VELVET, GENEROUS HEART, LANG TAI SING, MASTER ALBERT, CHARITY GLORY, BREEDERS' STAR, WHO ELSE BUT YOU, SMART BOY, GONNA RUN and SUPER FORM (18.10.17) proved negative.

Favourite Southern Legend came on strongly after peeling into the open two from the right to snatch victory from Mr Genuine following a patient ride second from the rear to remain unbeaten in his two outings over this Valley trip. The pace was in his favourite but he's a classy sprinter nonetheless and can head higher. Momentum Lucky stayed on well travelling midfield to give the tierce some value. He can bob up now and then. Key Witness finished well after travelling fourth from the rear to make it close for third. He's near a bottom. Line Seeker was held up for 50m at a crucial stage which likely cost him a possible placing following a rail run third from the rear. Sea Jade was the best of those up on the speed when peaking on his run 100m out after reclaiming the front 150m out. He's never one to brush aside over this Valley trip but is likely on or near his mark. Plunged late Jumbo Luck had every chance following a prominent run on the fence.
