Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (79) - THE NATIONAL DAY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1000Meters
JETWINGS proved very difficult to load.
Then as the start was effected, JETWINGS began very awkwardly, bumped heavily with the outside of its barrier and lost a considerable amount of ground.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on JETWINGS at the request of Trainer R Gibson.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, JETWINGS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
On jumping, DASHING FELLOW was crowded for room between MR STUNNING which shifted out and PENIAPHOBIA which shifted in after beginning awkwardly.
STRATHMORE jumped out at the start and made contact with MAGIC LEGEND.
D B PIN and AMAZING KIDS began only fairly.
PENIAPHOBIA lost its right front plate shortly after the start.
Approaching the 200 Metres, DASHING FELLOW was shifted to the inside of FABULOUS ONE to obtain clear running.
DASHING FELLOW was then shifted in and brushed NOT LISTENIN'TOME.
Approaching the 50 Metres, AMAZING KIDS was directed to the inside of the heels of FABULOUS ONE to continue improving its position.
D B PIN, DASHING FELLOW and NOT LISTENIN'TOME were sent for sampling.

Well-fancied late at long odds Dashing Fellow mowed down stablemate Not Listenin'tome 30m out after switching into the open 200m out following a midfield run to strike at his maiden run over this trip. The 1,400m specialist was suited by the pre-race rainfall. Not Listenin'tome surged to the lead 150m out following a midfield run three from the far side and just failed to hold the winner whom he was spotting 14 pounds. It was a huge run in defeat and he'll be competitive in the upcoming spring majors. Favourite D B Pin stayed on a non-threatening third after recovering from a tardy break to sit prominent in the run. He ran well and should be winning a group race soon. Magic Legend stuck on reasonably well travelling ahead of midfield two from the left to fill a Quartet spot. It was a better run on his two earlier sprints over a longer trip this term but he still needs to lift to make it at this level. Backed late, Fabulous One faded after sharing the lead.
