Recap by phillip woo
Favourite A Beautiful took some time to wind up carrying top weight but eventually got going following a one-out, one-back run to get up 100m out for the win after putting the writing on the wall with a return to Class Four last month. Old-timer Victory Master just held on for second after being well rated on the lead. He's not reliable but is certainly capable of big runs at this level. Noble De Love stuck on well to just miss a placing after stalking the leader one off the fence in a pleasing first run for his new trainer. He might be able to get away with race later down the line. Fortunate Runner kept on well following a prominent run on the fence in an encouraging debut. He had all favours in the run but has plenty of improvement to come. Best of the backmarkers, Sunny Orient came on from last to finish a clear-cut fifth. He's near a bottom and will appreciate a return to his preferred Valley track.
