Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Fantastic Fabio responded nicely following a prominent run along the fence to win going away 150m out for a first win at his 10th start and first on the surface. His future belongs on the dirt. Well-punted late Happy Sound kept on gamely for second along the fence after sharing the lead with Fortune Brothers. He's a winner waiting to happen on either surface at this level. Dynamic Lions ran on steadily near the inside following a midfield run to grab third 50m out. It was a better second effort in Class Five this term and he's not far off a bottom. Actuariat just held off the hard-charging A Fast One for a Quartet spot following a handy run. He's gone close in his past four starts on both surfaces following a downgrade and should come on for this run. A Fast One was ridden cold from a wide gate and finished well down the outside. He's run well in both outings from bad gates this term and will be a force to be reckoned with when drawing ideally.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (56) - KAM TIN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

HELLO KIMBERLEY, which proved difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again.

FANTASTIC FABIO shifted out at the start and bumped HELLO KIMBERLEY which in turn shifted out and bumped ORIENTAL FANTASIA.

Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, from the outside barrier, A FAST ONE failed to muster speed and then passing the 1100 Metres was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

After being brushed by ACTUARIAT passing the 900 Metres, HELLO KIMBERLEY got its head on the side, shifted in and made contact with FANTASTIC FABIO near the 850 Metres.

FANTASTICLIFE lost its right front plate after the 600 Metres.

Rounding the Home Turn, ORIENTAL FANTASTIA and ACTUARIAT raced tight as ORIENTAL FANTASIA attempted to improve outside FORTUNE BROTHERS.

In the early part of the Straight, GREAT TOPLIGHT, which travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race, got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly.

After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of SMILING GLORY.

He said from the wide barrier he was able to shift SMILING GLORY across behind runners in the early stages and obtain a three wide position in about midfield but largely with cover.

He said approaching the 500 Metres SMILING GLORY came off the bridle and then, despite being ridden out, did not close off the race and was disappointing.

A veterinary inspection of SMILING GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on HELLO KIMBERLEY at the request of Trainer C W Chang.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, HELLO KIMBERLEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of GREAT SKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

FANTASTIC FABIO and HAPPY SOUND were sent for sampling.
