Recap by phillip woo
Post-time favourite Mordicus never looked back after being hustled to lead from gate two. He's always promised and appears from this run to be over his soundness issues. Specked late, Money Winner closed off well near the inside to grab second in the late stages after travelling fourth from the rear in his best performance from four starts. He's returned looking a more complete runner and might be able to get away with a race soon. Early favourite None Other only plodded to just hold third after a box-seat run. Hopefully, the old-timer can come on for this run. Rewarding Flyer made some ground after settling behind midfield from a wide gate to just miss placing. He's gone well in both starts this term but doesn't have much upside off his current mark. Indigenous Star made a mild bid from the rear of the field. He needs a longer trip.
