Recap by phillip woo
Drifting in the betting, Bo Duke took control 160m out after tracking the moderate pace of My Blessing for the win over a trip short of his best. He had put the writing on the wall late last season so a big run was no surprise and might be good for another. The Sylph finished well following a one-off run fore of midfield to make it close on the wire. He'll certainly come on for this run and will be hard to beat if he remains in the grade for his next outing. City Winner lashed home from the rear of the field to fill a placing in a vastly improved run with the blinkers off. He'll need to prove this was no fluke but has fallen a tonne from an opening mark of 80. Favourite Play It got going from near the back to fill the frame after a sluggish break. It was an improved run coming down in class and he clearly wants a longer trip. Well-punted late Po Ching Treasure ran on steadily without ever looking a threat following a midfield run. He'll come on for this effort.
