Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Victory Boys came with a withering run down the outside after a patient ride second from the rear to get up in the last stride to continue his fine form with a third win from eight starts. He needed every ounce of his claimer's allowance but he should remain competitive at the top of the grade and does go well at both tracks. Green Dispatch was given every chance on the lead by Zac Purton who was going for win number five and was just nipped on the wire. He's ending the campaign in a good patch of form and remains one to consider when next stepping out over the 1,800m or 2,000m at either track. Gorgeous Again had every chance following a one-out, one-back run in his first run in the grade. It was a decent run but the softer ground conditions may have played against him. Ensuring made some ground from behind midfield to grab fourth on the wire. He's in the right grade but the big weight will continue to anchor him. Mcqueen came up one-paced after recovering from an awkward start to travel in the box-seat. From his past two starts, he's not far from a bottom. Lotus Strikes Back never ran on. He needs both a faster pace and harder ground conditions.
