Recap by phillip woo
Mongolian King peeled into the clear at the 400m after a patient ride fifth from the rear and finished willingly to take control 60m out for a win at his seventh start. He had been threatening to score in a good number of his earlier runs and appears to have the tools to win another. Intrepic finished well to grab second at cricket score odds following a oneoff run in midfield in a vastly improved effort on his earlier runs. He'll need to prove this was no fluke. Victory Day grudgingly gave way after dictating the run. The light weight and change of tactics was the key to an improved run. Lucky Guy wouldn't have won but might have come closer to filling a minor placing if not held up behind Gamechangers along the fence until the 200m following a rails run travelling fore of midfield. He doesn't have too many points in hand. Gamechangers was one-paced over the final 150m following a box-seat run. It wasn't a bad debut outing and he'll certainly come on for the run. General Dino ran on without menacing from the back. He needed the run following a setback with a fever and should strip a better chance when next stepping out.
