Recap by phillip woo

Raging favourite Lucky Master was never in danger after jumping alertly to easily make all the running from gate three for an overdue win after a bridesmaid role in two other runs. He got away with a terribly weak race but his natural gate speed will always be an asset going forward. Fantastic Show closed off well after travelling second from the rear following a sluggish break. He's still green and inexperienced but appears to have the tools to be a decent sprinter when coming into his own next season. A Shin Hoof eased back to eventually travel at the rear from a wide gate but finished nicely in the drive to grab a placing. He didn't beat much but it was only his second start and there is room for improvement. Riverside Bird gradually gave away after stalking the leader deep without cover. He definitely needs more time.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (697)-TATE'S CAIRN PLATE - Griffin Race - 1200Metres

TELECOM SUN and FANTASTIC SHOW began only fairly.

A SHIN HOOF was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When questioned, C Murray stated that he was asked to ride RIVERSIDE BIRD in a forward position and race outside LUCKY MASTER, a stablemate of RIVERSIDE BIRD which was anticipated to lead the race.

He said in the early stages RIVERSIDE BIRD proved difficult to settle when being steadied to obtain the anticipated position outside LUCKY MASTER.

He said approaching the 900 Metres he shifted in to race outside LUCKY MASTER and in advance of BONUS KING but after the 900 Metres RIVERSIDE BIRD got its head on the side and lay out which resulted in BONUS KING being able to improve its position inside RIVERSIDE BIRD and causing RIVERSIDE BIRD to be left racing wide and without cover for the remainder of the race.

He added RIVERSIDE BIRD again hung out making the Home Turn.

C Murray was advised that his riding of RIVERSIDE BIRD in the early stages had come under notice and he must ensure that he rides his mounts in such a manner so that they do not cover unnecessary ground and that they are given full opportunity to finish off their races.

LUCKY MASTER and FANTASTIC SHOW were sent for sampling.
