Favourite Grace Heart sat on the back of the leader Ocean Roar and wore him down 100m out for a return to the winner's circle at his 13th start this season. He was attractively- rated on the back of a win last season off a mark of 67 and again franked his good form when racing fresh off a break. Ocean Roar was ridden to lead at all costs and kept on gamely for second. He's not getting any younger but is always a tough one to run down over this trip at this level. Jolly Bountiful finished nicely three from the right following a rails run beyond midfield to grab a placing 30m out in a pleasing debut. He won't be far off a winning run. Dr Race continued his good run of form when making good ground late near the inside after settling third from the rear from a wide gate. He would have finished closer from a better draw. Trendiful only plodded when asked for a response after chasing the leading pair one off the fence from a wide gate. Still, he's racing better now than at the start of the campaign.

Race One: (653)-DEAUVILLE AUGUST YEARLING SALES HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

GRACE HEART jumped out at the start, resulting in THE INVINCIBLE being hampered when tightened onto the hindquarters of FLYING GODSPELL.

JOLLY BOUNTIFUL began only fairly.

Soon after the start, FLYING GODSPELL and HIGH ENERGY raced tight inside STARTLING POWER which shifted in.

Also soon after the start, SAKURA FIGHTER, which began awkwardly, had to be steadied when tightened for room between MORETHANLUCKY which shifted out and JUNZI which was taken in by TRENDIFUL.

For the majority of the race, STARTLING POWER raced wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of MORETHANLUCKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GRACE HEART and OCEAN ROAR were sent for sampling.
