Firming late in betting, Ivictory took some time to find his feet travelling worse than midfield near the center of the course but really let down inside the last 100m to wear down Super Junior in the final few metres. It was an impressive debut on the back of a solid preparation and he's got tonnes more improvement to come. Super Junior looked the winner when skipping clear at the 300m after travelling up with the leaders but found one smarter in the end. He's shown ability in his four starts and it's only a matter of time before his rings up another. Nice Fandango stayed on well following a handy run for a placing. He's given a good sight in both starts but will be more effective when stepping over a longer trip. Strathclyde grudgingly gave way after sharing the lead near the centre of the track. He's racing consistently well over this trip but just found a few promising sprinters too good. Odds-on favourite Encore Boy blew the start and only held his ground after recovering to sit handy travelling three from the left. It was only his third outing but he certainly has ability and will repay punters shortly. Super Euro Star closed off well travelling fourth from the rear.

Race Five: (647)-THE SWAINE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1000Metres

FIONN??S CITY was withdrawn on 12.5.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter SMILING GLORY (D Whyte).

ST YAZIN was also withdrawn on 12.5.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore suspensory) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter RAICHU (N Callan).

Before being allowed to race again, FIONN??S CITY and ST YAZIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A FAST ONE, which was very fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and lost ground.

ENCORE BOY, which was in the adjoining stall to A FAST ONE, had its head turned to the left as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.

Then shortly after the start, ENCORE BOY was steadied away from the heels of SUPER EURO STAR which shifted in abruptly.

TOURBILLON KING lost its right front plate after the 700 Metres.

Passing the 200 Metres, NICE FANDANGO got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.

Passing the 150 Metres, GODSPEED was shifted out away from the heels of TOURBILLON KING to continue improving.

A veterinary inspection of ENCORE BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ENCORE BOY, IVICTORY and SUPER JUNIOR were sent for sampling.
