Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (632)-THE CHAIRMAN'S SPRINT PRIZE - Group One - 1200Metres
DUNDONNELL was withdrawn on 5.5.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).AEROVELOCITY was withdrawn on 6.5.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, DUNDONNELL and AEROVELOCITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MR STUNNING shifted out at the start and bumped PENIAPHOBIA.
AMAZING KIDS, BLIZZARD and SUN JEWELLERY were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, THEWIZARDOFOZ was bumped by STRATHMORE which got its head on the side and lay in.
Rounding the Home Turn, THEWIZARDOFOZ and STRATHMORE made contact as THEWIZARDOFOZ shifted out into clear running.
Passing the 300 Metres, THEWIZARDOFOZ was bumped by MR STUNNING which shifted out into clear running.
After this, MR STUNNING hung out and near the 200 Metres shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in THEWIZARDOFOZ and STRATHMORE being crowded for room inside AMAZING KIDS which also shifted in marginally.
As the Stewards were satisfied that J Moreira had made all reasonable efforts to prevent MR STUNNING from shifting out, no further action was taken.
After this, MR STUNNING continued to lay out and proved difficult to ride.
A veterinary inspection of BLIZZARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LUCKY BUBBLES and MR STUNNING were sent for sampling.

Lucky Bubbles got the run when needed following a box-seat run and responded well to get up 60m out for an overdue Group One success after numerous unlucky runs this term. Favourite Mr Stunning didn't enjoy the best of runs but let down very well when pulling out at the 200m to make it close in the end after travelling third from the rear. He lost nothing in defeat and there's not much between the top pair. Not Listenin'tome landed a nice spot one-out, one-back and stayed on well to finish a close third. He rarely runs a bad race. Thewizardofoz closed off well from midfield to just miss a placing. He has had soundness issues but does appear from his past couple to be back on track. Peniaphobia found the front and grudgingly gave way in the drive. He's a high grade sprinter but this wasn't his day. Amazing Kids was getting going late from behind midfield. It was a decent effort following a recent trip to Dubai but he's more effective nowadays over the straight 1,000m. Blizzard looked tired and needs a break.
