New Asia Sunrise darted to the front 350m out after stalking the speed and kept up a good gallop for an overdue win after running huge races in defeat against better opposition in recent runs. He's very honest with a huge heart. Hang's Decision closed off well after settling fourth from the rear from a wide gate to finish a non-threatening second. He appears from his past four starts to have the tools to add to a Class Three win in January. My Darling closed off well to nearly get second despite being badly held up until the 120m after being posted three deep with cover in the second half of the field from the widest gate. He'll be hard to beat if he draws a half decent gate over this trip. Favourite Time Warp grudgingly gave way after driving through to lead 1,200m out along the fence. He isn't far off a win. Mr Genuine stuck on well after travelling midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (634)-ATLANTIC OCEAN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Metres

PIKACHU began awkwardly and lost ground.

SKY KING was slow to begin and then despite being hard ridden throughout the race became detached from the field.

After the race, C Y Ho was unable to offer any explanation for the performance of SKY KING and said the horse at no stage showed any interest in the race.

A veterinary inspection of SKY KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SKY KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SKY KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Passing the 1000 Metres, HAPPY AGILITY got its head on the side, lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of MR GENUINE.

BABA MAMA had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and then passing the 250 Metres was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MOMENTUM LUCKY.

BABA MAMA then raced with its head on the side and lay in under pressure and near the 100 Metres was bumped by MOMENTUM LUCKY which shifted in.

LET US WIN was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 250 Metres.

LET US WIN then had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 100 Metres.

Approaching the 100 Metres, ALL YOU WISH was shifted out away from the heels of MOMENTUM LUCKY.

Passing the 50 Metres, BABA MAMA was shifted in away from the heels of TIME WARP.

Throughout the race, HARRIER JET travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned regarding his riding of MY DARLING after the 600 Metres, B Prebble stated that approaching the 600 Metres he was racing between MR GENUINE and HARRIER JET which shifted out marginally.

He said when HARRIER JET continued to shift out and MR GENUINE remained racing behind MOMENTUM LUCKY, he elected to improve between MR GENUINE and HARRIER JET as he did not want to be taken unnecessarily wide rounding the Home Turn by HARRIER JET.

He said for this reason near the 500 Metres he rode his mount along to improve between those horses, however, at this time MR GENUINE shifted out which resulted in MY DARLING being disappointed for running.

He said he then considered shifting to the outside of HARRIER JET, however, as he had ridden his mount along, he believed he would have had to restrain MY DARLING to shift out across the heels of HARRIER JET and as MR GENUINE was a horse that he considered to be a strong chance in the race, he elected to follow that horse through.

He added MR GENUINE did not quicken as quickly as he thought it would and this resulted in MY DARLING being badly held up for clear running from the 400 Metres until after the 150 Metres.

When questioned regarding the performance of HAPPY AGILITY, K Teetan stated that he was able to obtain a position with cover behind MR GENUINE approaching the 900 Metres and he was comfortable with the position that he occupied.

He said however that HAPPY AGILITY did not travel at any stage of the race and was very disappointing in the manner in which it finished off the race.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY AGILITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of HAPPY AGILITY, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY AGILITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that MERION was lame in its left front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, MERION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MOMENTUM LUCKY and PIKACHU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

TIME WARP, NEW ASIA SUNRISE and HANG'S DECISION were sent for sampling.

Racing Laboratory tests of SUPER SWEET ORANGE, ATOMIC BLAST, PLANET GIANT, GARLIC YEAH, KING BOUNTIFUL, BLAZING PASS, EMPIRE STAR, DR RACE, SUNNY ORIENT, YOUNG EMPIRE, SMART SALUTE, AMBITIOUS PINS, CONTRIBUTION, SUM WIN DRAGON, LAND GRANT, GOLDEN SLEEP, MAGICAL BEAUTY, WONDERFUL FIGHTER, PERPETUAL JOYANCE, SEA JADE, VICTORY MARVEL and MR GENUINE (26.4.17) proved negative.
