Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Keep Moving led or shared the lead on the stands side and edged clear over the last 100m for a second win from four starts. He has the tools to hold his own up in grade off lighter weights. Strathclyde pressed forward from a low draw to vie for the lead and found one a shade too good in the end. He has improvement to come with only four runs under the belt and will be adding to a last-start win shortly. Fancied late to jump favourite, Nice Fandango showed gate speed to share the lead at the 600m and his condition gave out inside the last 100m. He looks a nice find for the stable and will be winning races. St Yazin came with a wet sail late after travelling behind midfield in the middle of the course to grab a Quartet spot in deep stretch. Veteran rarely throws a bad race and would be hard to beat if he can get the drop into Class Five over this trip or the Valley 1,200m. Tourbillon King narrowly made the running four off the grandstand side and was on his tippy toes 150m out. It was a lot better run second-up and he's headed in the right direction. A Fast One finished well on the wrong side of the track after travelling near the back for a second positive result in this grade over the straight 1,000m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (590)-EMPOWERING YOUTH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

DRAGON DANCE and LE PANACHE were slow to begin.

As the start was effected, A FAST ONE lifted its front feet off the ground and lost ground and then shortly after the start lost further ground when crowded for room between ROYALE ELEGANCE and STRATHCLYDE which shifted out.

Also as the start was effected, NICE FANDANGO put its head down and consequently began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, ROYALE ELEGANCE was steadied away from the heels of ST YAZIN when momentarily racing in restricted room between that horse and STRATHCLYDE.

Over the final 300 Metres, AUTOPAY lay out under pressure.

Over the concluding stages, KIWI SUNRISE raced tight outside WILD BOY which was awkwardly placed outside AUTOPAY which continued to lay out.

At the 50 Metres, A FAST ONE shifted out and made contact with HAY GO LUCKY.

Close to the finishing line, WILD BOY was shifted in away from the heels of AUTOPAY which was steadied and directed to the outside of NICE FANDANGO.

The performance of DRAGON DANCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Having regard to DRAGON DANCE's previous racing performances, the Stewards ruled that the horse must undergo a series of consecutive barrier trials (not less than three) and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

After the race, Apprentice H T Mo (AUTOPAY) reported that his saddle shifted back in the early stages, causing him some inconvenience.

Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAY GO LUCKY had bled from both nostrils A veterinary inspection of WILD BOY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, WILD BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

NICE FANDANGO, KEEP MOVING and STRATHCLYDE were sent for sampling.
