Trump was given a lovely run in the box-seat, dashed to the front 80m out and held off favourite Cheer Win for a deserving win after going close in three of four other Valley sprints this term. He'll find it harder following this win but should remain competitive. Cheer Win was struggling to stay in touch around midfield but eventually turned it up another gear to get home nicely for second. He appreciated the light weight despite a rise in class and will be winning shortly. Arm Runda wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run. It was a good effort despite a step up in class following back-to-back wins and he should be able to make a career in Class Three. Pakistan Baby closed off well after travelling third from the rear but is better on a track with give. All My Gain switched out sharply 250m out following a one-off run behind midfield from a wide gate and finished nicely to just miss a Quartet spot. He backed up a last-start win with a positive effort here and he might be able to win another in the grade, if he draws a proper gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (534)-EAST POINT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres

LAMAROSA was withdrawn on 28.3.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ALL MY GAIN (K C Leung).

Before being allowed to race again, LAMAROSA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the Start, it was noted that MARVEL TRIBE had lost its left front plate.

After this plate was refitted, MARVEL TRIBE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

MARVEL TRIBE shifted out at the start and bumped LET'S TAKE IT EASY.

Shortly after the start, PAKISTAN BABY shifted out and bumped CHEER WIN.

From wide barriers, HARD BALL GET, ALL MY GAIN and PEACE N PROSPERITY were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, CHEER WIN got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied away from the heels of MARVEL TRIBE.

Near the 950 Metres, ALL MY GAIN got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of CHEER WIN which continued to be awkwardly placed behind MARVEL TRIBE.

For some distance after the 800 Metres, CHEER WIN had to be ridden along when reluctant to improve its position between TRUMP and A BEAUTIFUL.

Approaching the 600 Metres, PAKISTAN BABY became badly unbalanced after shifting in and bumping the running rail of its own accord.

For some distance in the middle stages, A BEAUTIFUL got its head on the side and lay out.

For the majority of the race, LUCKY DAY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

Throughout the race, OUR HERO travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned, K C Leung (ALL MY GAIN) stated that at the entrance to the Straight he was following OUR HERO and racing just to the inside of CHEER WIN.

He said although he was aware that there was a run to the inside of OUR HERO which was available to him, he felt that with the C+3 rail position tonight, it was more likely that clear running would be available to ALL MY GAIN by shifting to the outside of CHEER WIN rather than attempting to improve inside OUR HERO.

He said he felt that were OUR HERO to shift in or MARVEL TRIBE to his inside shift ground outwards, ALL MY GAIN would be disappointed for running and therefore he elected to shift to the outside of CHEER WIN and was able to obtain clear running for the remainder of the race.

He said when shifting to the outside of CHEER WIN, ALL MY GAIN was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse near the 250 Metres.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ALL MY GAIN was found to have sustained a wound to the right hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, ALL MY GAIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY DAY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

TRUMP and CHEER WIN were sent for sampling.

GENERAL:

1.

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm".

This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm".

26 March 2017 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 9 (525) When questioned, B Prebble stated that it had been anticipated that VOLITATION would be able to take up a position behind the speed as it had been able to assume this position from inside barriers in some of its previous races.

He said however that he was asked not to make use of the horse early as VOLITATION had been inclined to over-race in some of its races.

He said he was also asked to obtain inside runs if possible as the horse was carrying top weight.

He said in the early stages he felt that the pace of the race was good and VOLITATION was not showing the type of early speed that he anticipated.

He said he had intended to follow DARING FIT which was being ridden along to obtain a forward position and he had hoped in those circumstances to race inside MORETHANLUCKY.

He said however MORETHANLUCKY was showing more early speed than VOLITATION and he felt that in order to maintain his positon inside that horse he would have had to ride VOLITATION along which would have been contrary to his instructions.

He said therefore he elected to follow MORETHANLUCKY which resulted in VOLITATION racing further back in the field than had been intended.

He added VOLITATION travelled only fairly in the run and, despite being able to take inside runs in the Straight, the horse was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to close off the race.

Mr J Size, the trainer of VOLITATION, confirmed the instructions he gave to Jockey Prebble.

He said he had expected that VOLITATION would show natural early speed and as such would not be required to be ridden along to obtain a position behind the speed.

He confirmed that because of this he asked Jockey Prebble not to ride the horse along from the start as he did not want it over-racing carrying top weight, however, this instruction was given in the expectation that the horse would show more early speed than it did in this race.

He said having regard to his instructions and the manner in which VOLITATION began, he was satisfied with Jockey Prebble's riding of the horse in the early stages.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 26 March 2017 The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that RUN FORREST was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing.

Before being allowed to race again, RUN FORREST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of AEROLUMINANCE, FORTUNE GIGGLES, BEST JADE TRIUMPH, ARGENTUM, DASHING DART, GOLDEN ACHIEVER, DRAGON GENERAL, PERPETUAL JOYANCE, RADIANT STEED, BOLSHOI BALLET, HAPPY METEOR, GOLDEN SUN, LONDON CITY, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS, MAGIC LEGEND, HIGH FIVE, BABA MAMA, WHAT ELSE BUT YOU, WINNER'S WAY, DARING FIT, WORLD RECORD, CELESTIAL NOVA, PENANG HALL and CITRON SPIRIT revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of JUMBO LUCK, MR PICASSO, MR ORIOLE, HIT A HOME RUN, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY, FANTASTICLIFE, INVINCIBLE DRAGON, DASHING FELLOW, CONTENTMENT, ENCORE BOY, STRATHCLYDE, SUPER JUNIOR, RATTAN, COOL AND NEAT, G-ONE LOVER, CITY LEGEND, MAMBO ROCK, JOLLY GENE, RAPPER DRAGON, PAKISTAN STAR, JING JING WIN, RIGHT CALL, HANG'S DECISION, WESTERN EXPRESS and SUPER LIFELINE (19.3.17) proved negative.
