Recap by phillip woo

Young Empire made all the running from gate nine in a good time to open his win account after putting the writing on the wall in his two prior starts. It's taken him 13 starts to finally bottom out after arriving off a mark of 73 on some good British form but off this performance, he can head higher now. Favourite Victor Emperor enjoyed a lovely run in the box-seat but found one too smart on the day. He's run all right twice after a Class Five win but may need a claimer's allowance to score off a feather weight at this level. Hot Hot Pepper punched the breeze in second from a wide gate and kept on well for a placing, his seventh top four finish without winning in nine runs this term. Connections should utilise a seven or 10-pound claimer. Nashashuk came on well after slotting one off in midfield from the widest gate. It was a pleasing run carrying more weight following a last-start win and he isn't far off another win in this grade. Specked late Clever Spirit ran on late after travelling fourth from the rear. He's not genuine but is attractively rated on a past winning run. Sunny Orient had excuses after missing the kick in his first run for his stable. Secret Agent disappointed following a one-out, one-back run. He has lost his way in recent outings and is one to avoid for the time being.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (529)-JOHN PEEL HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres

MASSIVE MILLENNIUM began very awkwardly and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between HONEST HORSE and SUNNY ORIENT, both of which shifted ground.

In this incident, both SUNNY ORIENT and HONEST HORSE became unbalanced.

Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, SUNNY ORIENT got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of CLEVER SPIRIT, resulting in SUNNY ORIENT losing ground.

Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, RAINBOW FIGHTER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTOR EMPEROR.

A veterinary inspection of SECRET AGENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YOUNG EMPIRE and VICTOR EMPEROR were sent for sampling.
