Recap by phillip woo

Giddy Giddy comfortably led after jumping swiftly from gate two and had enough in the tank to hold off Golden Glory for a first win from 13 starts over this trip. Natural gate speed is always an asset in Class Five on this tight course but he'll find it harder at the top of the grade off a bigger weight. Golden Glory closed off well after travelling fore of midfield along the fence to make it close. He's put the writing on the wall in two recent runs at this level and should be winning shortly over this course. Haymaker made ground down the outside after travelling fourth from the rear to fill a placing under a very aggressive ride by Karis Teetan. Thank the drop in class for his improved run. Raging favourite Show Mission had his chance after travelling in the box-seat following a slightly tardy break but only plodded over the last 100m. It was a disappointment on the back of two solid runs but it's not surprising in Class Five. It was a huge margin back to the rest of the field though All Times Lucky did make some ground after going back from a tricky gate. He's one to keep safe from a better draw in the future.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (528)-MATHESON HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres

SHINING CHAMPION began only fairly.

HAYMAKER shifted out at the start and bumped IDYLLIC WIND.

KING OF SMARTS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SPARKLING TALENT.

SPARKLING TALENT, from the outside barrier, was then steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 850 Metres, LEAN JOURNEY, which was reluctant to hold its position, got its head on the side and shifted out and in doing so bumped the hindquarters of SHINING CHAMPION which became unbalanced.

This resulted in LEAN JOURNEY losing ground.

Then making the turn passing the 600 Metres, LEAN JOURNEY again got its head on the side and shifted out and in doing so made contact with SPARKLING TALENT, resulting in LEAN JOURNEY being checked.

Passing the 300 Metres, SHOW MISSION shifted out and brushed FOREVER FUN.

FOREVER FUN then shifted out away from SHOW MISSION, resulting in IDYLLIC WIND being inconvenienced.

Passing the 150 Metres, FOREVER FUN was brushed by GOLDEN GLORY which got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of GO-GETTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SHOW MISSION, GIDDY GIDDY and GOLDEN GLORY were sent for sampling.
