Recap by phillip woo

King Winsa finished strongly down the outside after being stoked up 550m out following a patient ride second from the rear to take control in deep stretch for a second win and first over this Valley trip this term. He's racing well and should remain competitive off a lightweight in a higher class. Five Stars Agent was cut down late after repelling a few challengers for the lead. He's getting closer with each start in this grade and will be saluting shortly. Letsgofree kept on well after travelling effectively one-out, one-back from a wide gate to finish a clear-cut third. He won't be far off a winning run in this grade. Favourite Agiaal couldn't turn it up another gear following a handy run. It was a disappointing effort and he's not one to take at short odds. Dragon Glory ran on steadily without menacing from behind midfield. He hasn't been far off the placings in recent runs on the turf and may require a claimer's allowance off a feather weight to figure in the placings.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (509)-FINANCE STREET HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Metres

DRAGON GLORY and STORM KID both began only fairly.

From the outside barrier, CHEERFUL FRAME was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 1600 Metres, DOUBLE POINT shifted in and bumped FAITHFUL BOY.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, STORM KID and DRAGON GLORY raced tight.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, NOVEL START became unbalanced when racing tight inside DRAGON GLORY which was racing in restricted room inside DOUBLE POINT.

For a considerable distance approaching and passing the 1300 Metres, FAITHFUL BOY got its head up when proving difficult to settle and racing close to the heels of LETSGOFREE.

Then approaching the 900 Metres, FAITHFUL BOY again raced close to the heels of LETSGOFREE and was consequently allowed to stride forward to settle outside the lead.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, NOVEL START was steadied when racing tight inside LETSGOFREE which got its head on the side and lay in when awkwardly placed behind WEALTHY FORTUNE.

Near the 650 Metres, DRAGON GLORY and THIS IS GLADIATOR raced tight.

After the 300 Metres, WEALTHY FORTUNE lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of AGIAAL.

Passing the 200 Metres, LETSGOFREE (N Rawiller) and AGIAAL bumped due to both horses shifting ground.

For some distance after this, AGIAAL raced tight outside LETSGOFREE due to that horse shifting out under pressure.

N Rawiller was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make every endeavour to prevent his mounts form shifting ground.

At various times throughout the race, DOUBLE POINT travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DRAGON GLORY had sustained a minor wound to the right front pastern.

AGIAAL, KING WINSA and FIVE STARS AGENT were sent for sampling.
