Recap by phillip woo

Pikachu kicked clear 210m out following a positive ride one off in fourth for an overdue win after filling the frame in four of seven other runs this term. He's run well off lightweights in Class Two in the past, so another victory in the future would not surprise. Thunder Stomp tried to emulate a box-seat win last month in a similar spot but found one too good on the day. He appears to have more points in hand over this Valley trip. Favourite Victory Boys closed off well from behind midfield to grab a placing 50m out. He needed the run off a break and will be hard to oppose when next stepping out over the 1,800m or further. Agree ran on steadily from midfield to just get the bob down for fourth. The blinkers didn't make a huge difference but he has shown progress in recent runs and isn't far off a winning run. The Supreme was doing his best work late as usual. He might be better suited over the longer Sha Tin straight. Giant Turtle ran on without menacing after sitting back from a wide gate. He's had excuses in his past two of three outings in this grade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (497)-TIN WAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres

Shortly after the start, VICTORY BOYS and FULL GLAMOUR bumped.

From wide barriers, THE SUPREME, HIGH AND MIGHTY and MODERN TSAR were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

After the 1100 Metres, THE SUPREME got its head up when proving difficult to settle.

After the 500 Metres, MODERN TSAR was eased out of the race.

A veterinary inspection of MODERN TSAR immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Passing the 150 Metres, AGREE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SENSATION which shifted out under pressure.

When questioned, K Teetan stated that, from the outside barrier, he had been asked to obtain cover on GIANT TURTLE and it was hoped that the horse may be able to obtain a position behind midfield.

He said it was felt that were GIANT TURTLE to be ridden to obtain a forward position as is usual, the horse may be left racing wide and without cover as there were a number of runners which were expected to take up a forward position.

He said it was felt that GIANT TURTLE's best opportunity to finish off the race would be for it to be ridden from off the speed with cover rather than having to be used up to obtain a forward position.

He added the pace of the race was good and GIANT TURTLE finished off the race well in the circumstances.

VICTORY BOYS, PIKACHU and THUNDER STOMP were sent for sampling.
