Booming Delight stamped himself as a legitimate Derby contender with a third straight win. He kept on gamely after sweeping to the lead 200m despite knuckling over at the start and making his run third from the rear. Happilababy made it close at the wire following a deep run with cover travelling behind midfield in a return to top form over his preferred 2,000m. Ambitious Champion poked his head in front approaching the 200m following a box-seat run and wouldn't go down without a fight. He continues to run well but keeps finding a couple too good for a third straight run. Ensuring backed up a good midweek effort when coming on strongly with clear running 300m out from behind midfield to finish a close fourth. The options are endless for this versatile sort and he'll be striking shortly. Helene Charisma just missed out on a Quartet spot following a midfield run in an improved run with a step up in distance. He'll likely show his true colours over an even longer trip.

Race Seven: (432)-LUNG KONG HANDICAP - Class 2 - 2000Metres

BOOMING DELIGHT began awkwardly and, from a wide barrier, was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

HAPPILABABY began awkwardly, shifted in at the start and bumped GREEN DISPATCH.

HAPPY PLACE began awkwardly.

From the outside barrier, RAGHU was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1800 Metres, BOOMING DELIGHT improved to be racing tight inside the heels of RAGHU and in doing so shifted in and bumped HAPPY PLACE.

Passing the 500 Metres, HAPPILABABY became unbalanced after being bumped by LET US WIN (T Berry) which shifted out to obtain clear running.

T Berry was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise due care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

LET US WIN and HAPPILABABY then raced tight rounding the Home Turn.

In the early part of the Straight, LET US WIN raced in restricted room between GREEN DISPATCH and HAPPILABABY.

Also in the early part of the Straight, HELENE CHARISMA was held up for clear running.

BOOMING DELIGHT and HAPPILABABY were sent for sampling.
