Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (422)-BLUE POOL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres
TRUMP began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of DRAGON GENERAL.A short distance later, TRUMP was crowded for room between DRAGON GENERAL and COURAGEOUS BROTHER, both of which shifted ground.
In this incident, COURAGEOUS BROTHER became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by TRUMP.
From wide barriers, HARRIET JET and KING MORTAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SPEEDY ACHIEVER as also steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Making the first turn after the 1100 Metres, KING MORTAR, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head on the side and lay out.
Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, TIME WARP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WONDERFUL JOURNEY.
Near the 850 Metres, SPEEDY ACHIEVER got its head up when awkwardly placed outside the heels of COURAGEOUS BROTHER.
Then passing the 800 Metres, SPEEDY ACHIEVER again got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of COURAGEOUS BROTHER.
In the early part of the Straight, TIME WARP got its head on the side and lay in and was reluctant to shift to the outside of WONDERFUL JOURNEY.
Passing the 100 Metres, WONDERFUL JOURNEY was shifted out away from the heels of HELLA HEDGE which shifted out marginally.
A veterinary inspection of SPEEDY ACHIEVER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, SPEEDY ACHIEVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LOVE SHOCK, HELLA HEDGE and FLYING TOURBILLON were sent for sampling.

Hella Hedge just held on after jumping alertly to lead from gate six on a leader's track for an upset win. He's an honest sort who has rung up a win in each of his past two campaigns but will find it harder carrying a penalty when next stepping out. Flying Tourbillon chased the leader along the fence and just failed to get up. He rarely runs a bad race over this Valley trip. Time Warp was pulling back the gap late following a handy run. He's starting to get the hang of things but is likely one that will be winning at 1,400m or further. Late-fancied favourite Love Shock got rolling late following a midfield run with cover from a wide gate to snatch fourth on the wire. The weight was too big a hurdle to clear. Wonderful Journey eventually settled third with cover from a tricky gate and only plugged on one-paced when asked for a response. He might be nearing his mark. Super Turbo was getting going late from just worse than midfield when the race was all but over. The conditions of the track went against him.
