Keep Moving assumed the front after stalking the speed at the 290m and kept on gamely to just get the win in a terrific debut effort. He's bred to be a useful sprinter. City Legend flashed home late despite running about under pressure after jumping slowly to snatch second at big odds in an encouraging debut. He appeared from trackwork and trials to need this outing but appears to have some ability and will appreciate a further trip as well. Well-fancied late to jump favourite, Merrygowin came on nicely after travelling in the centre of the course behind midfield to make it close on the wire. He appears to have a bright further and will want much further when fully coming to hand. Early favourite Healthy Luck plodded over the final 100m after looming a chance following a handy run at the 200m but the big weight after a debut win and low draw took its toll. He's not one to give up on. Happy Sound was gone at the 250m after showing some early speed.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (352)-DUNDAS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

PRINCE HARMONY was withdrawn on 21.1.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BELOVED (C Schofield).

Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE HARMONY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GENERAL O'REILLY and BELOVED were slow to begin.

MASSIVE MOVE, which began awkwardly, and JOLLY AMBER bumped at the start.

FUN MANAGER shifted out at the start and bumped CITY LEGEND.

Passing the 400 Metres, MERRYGOWIN shifted out away from VITAL SPRING which at this stage was directed to the outside of MASSIVE MOVE.

Over the final 400 Metres, HEALTHY LUCK raced with its head on the side and lay out under pressure and passing the 200 Metres was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of KEEP MOVING which shifted in.

Over the final 150 Metres, CITY LEGEND hung out under pressure and proved difficult to ride.

A veterinary inspection of LUNAR ZEPHYR and MASSIVE MOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MERRYGOWIN, KEEP MOVING and CITY LEGEND were sent for sampling.
