Recap by phillip woo

Mr Potential rolled to the lead 270m out after stalking the speed one off the fence and kept up a strong gallop to open his win account at start nine. He was suited by the step back to the 1,400m and appears to have improvement to come. Favourite Everest couldn't cut back the margin on the winner after easing into the open 200m out following a box-seat run. He's nothing special but has managed to ring up placings in three straight runs and can score shortly. Superior Boy rounded the final bend four deep with every chance following a handy run and came up flat over the final 100m. His consistency, six placings from 12 starts, keeps him at the top of the weights in this grade which is anchoring him on a win line. Beauty Love ran on steadily two from the right following a midfield run. He's in the right grade but is better suited over the 1,800m. Salsa Brothers kept on all right after dictating the run. He's near a bottom after picking up prize money on both surfaces in two of his past three starts. Unbeatable Guts was running on late after travelling third from the rear from a wide gate. Daring Heart nearly came down after clipping heels at the 1,180m and the backwash wiped away the chances of Kitaya.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (317)-IRIS HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

Shortly after the start, UNBEATABLE GUTS and DARING HEART were crowded for room between CAPE THE FAITH and BOLD STITCH which, after being bumped by DARING HEART, became unbalanced and shifted in.

DARING HEART and BOLD STITCH were then shifted across behind runners.

From the outside barrier, KITAYA was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When DARING HEART was being shifted across behind CIRCUIT FORTUNE approaching the 1200 Metres, DARING HEART was checked away from that horse as CIRCUIT FORTUNE was being steadied to obtain a position with cover behind BEAUTY LOVE.

DARING HEART then bumped the hindquarters of UNBEATABLE GUTS which became unbalanced and then shifted in further and clipped the heels of UNBEATABLE GUTS, blundered badly and was severely checked.

KITAYA, which was following, was shifted out abruptly away from the heels of DARING HEART in consequence.

As the Stewards were of the opinion that there was no rider error associated with this incident, no further action was taken.

At the 900 Metres, DARING HEART became unbalanced of its own accord.

Throughout the race, LETSGOFREE travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned, C Y Ho (CAPE THE FAITH) stated that making the first turn after the 900 Metres CAPE THE FAITH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LETSGOFREE.

He said CAPE THE FAITH proved difficult to settle and was inclined to lay out after the 800 Metres.

He said near the 700 Metres CAPE THE FAITH hung out which resulted in the horse shifting out into a four wide position and then continued to hang out, particularly rounding the Home Turn.

A veterinary inspection of DARING HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MR POTENTIAL and EVEREST were sent for sampling.
