Favourite Elite Spirit took control 120m out following a prominent run along the fence. The drop in grade and return to the dirt was the key to victory. He'll find it tough back in Class Three but is still a possible place chance on this surface. Flying Godspell gave a cheeky sight on the speed from a wide gate for second in an improved performance with a switch to the dirt at only his second career start. He'll be winning races with more education. Hearts Keeper continued his consistent form on the surface when coming from midfield to fill a placing. He's running well but may be near his mark. Richcity Fortune grudgingly gave way after stalking the speed. He's near a bottom and can pop up at any time. Invisible ran on late from the back with a return to the dirt. He may be worth a try at a mile on this surface or wait for a drop back into Class Five to make his presence felt in the finish.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (234)-GRANVILLE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

HIT A HOME RUN began awkwardly and then, from the outside barrier, was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after the start, HURRICANE KID shifted in and bumped HEARTS KEEPER.

KINGSTON JUMBO (K C Leung) was crowded for room a short distance after the start between GAME OF FUN and I??M THE WON FOR U.

In this incident, GAME OF FUN became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by KINGSTON JUMBO.

When questioned, K C Leung stated that, despite being hard ridden for some distance in the early stages, KINGSTON JUMBO did not stretch out and did not feel comfortable in its action.

He said the horse continued to give ground despite being ridden along and as he felt that all was not well with the horse, he eased it down making the first turn near the 700 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of KINGSTON JUMBO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

The performance of KINGSTON JUMBO, which also finished tailed out at its previous start, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, KINGSTON JUMBO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Despite being aggressively ridden for a considerable distance in the early stages, TRILLION TREASURE failed to muster speed.

Passing the 50 Metres, GLOBE TROTTER, which was commencing to give ground, was momentarily crowded for room between HURRICANE KID which shifted in marginally and INVISIBLE which shifted out when closing off the race strongly.

Throughout the race, GLOBE TROTTER travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GAME OF FUN was lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, GAME OF FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of TRILLION TREASURE, GLOBE TROTTER and I??M THE WON FOR U immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ELITE SPIRIT and FLYING GODSPELL were sent for sampling.
