Recap by phillip woo

Lucky Day rushed to the front 80m out following a prominent run to notch a second win from four starts this term. The better draw on this occasion was the key to victory. Smashed late in betting, Charity Glory was given every chance after jumping alertly from a better draw but found one too good on the evening. He's ready to win. Iron Boy closed off after barging his way into the open at the 200m following a rails run in midfield to make it close on the wire. The positive run with a return to the Valley opens up options for the five-year-old but the big weights will anchor him off his current mark. Sharp Hunter continued his good run of form despite a return to Class Three for a closing fourth. He's near his mark. Extremely Fun knocked up inside the final 150m after dictating the run off a big weight following a last-start win. He requires a claimer's allowance. Favourite Wayfoong Vinnie copped a bump mid-straight but was already a beaten runner following a one-off run travelling fore of midfield in his first run at this level. He might need a longer trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (228)-THE ST ANDREW'S CHALLENGE QUAICH (HANDICAP) (Sec2) - Class 3 - 1200Metres

From the outside barriers, BALAY BALAY, EL SHERIF and GOLDEN DEER were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

When being steadied to obtain cover passing the 1100 Metres, SHARP HUNTER got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle.

Passing the 1000 Metres, EL SHERIF was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRAVEL SUCCESSOR.

Approaching the 600 Metres, WAYFOONG VINNIE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHARITY GLORY which got its head on the side and lay in when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALL GREAT FRIENDS.

FLYING FORCE, which was following WAYFOONG VINNIE, got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse in consequence.

Near the 250 Metres, WAYFOONG VINNIE was bumped by IRON BOY which shifted to the outside of CHARITY GLORY to obtain clear running.

From approaching the 200 Metres until passing the 150 Metres, LUCKY DAY raced in restricted room when improving into tight running between EXTREMELY FUN and ALL GREAT FRIENDS.

After the race, it was noted that CHARITY GLORY had sustained a laceration to the outside of the right hind cannon and multiple abrasions to the back of the right hock.

WAYFOONG VINNIE, LUCKY DAY and CHARITY GLORY were sent for sampling.
