Recap by phillip woo
Sparkling Talent came on nicely following a rail's run in midfield to take control 150m out for a first win at his second outing at this level. He'll leave the grade but if things don't pan out in Class Four, he'll be in the cellar grade and competitive. Smart Salute came on nicely from the rear of the field after a sluggish break to grab second. He's hit the line well in two of five starts this term and can get away with a Valley sprint shortly in this grade. Telecom Boom closed off nicely from near the back to fill a placing. It was another positive run on the back of a rallying sixth on the dirt last Wednesday and he doesn't appear far off a winning run at this level. He should get up to 1,400m. Favourite Giddy Giddy isn't anything special in the first place and knocked up as expected after vying for the lead three deep with the pair of Showing Character and Perfect Smart underneath him and Double Master to his outside. He also needs a wet track. Noble Buddies did cop a check 700m out which cost him any chance. Able Talent was a late withdrawal.
