Favourite Snowhooves came on nicely one from the outside after travelling fore of midfield from a tricky gate to take control 100m out for a first win at his 25th start with a return to the dirt. He'll find things harder following this win but should still remain contentious at this level if drawing a good gate on either surface. Everyone's Choice peeled out at the 250m after settling worse than midfield along the fence following a slow break and finished nicely to out-bob Oriental Fantasia for second. The drop in grade was the key and he should be able to get away with a race at this level over 1,200m on either surface. Oriental Fantasia grudgingly gave way after showing gate speed with the blinkers go on. He's always a chance sprinting at this level from a good draw. Mighty Gains kept on all right but had his chance after sitting outside the leader and is likely beyond his better days. It was a better run with a drop in grade in his season debut by Telecom Boom who came on reasonably well from last at the top of the straight.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (149)-TIU YUE YUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres

EVERYONE'S CHOICE began awkwardly and lost ground.

PROPEL REPEL was slow to begin.

ALL TOGETHER shifted in at the start and bumped GOOD VIEW DELIGHTS.

After this, despite being vigorously ridden along, ALL TOGETHER failed to muster speed and then making the turn approaching the 600 Metres got its head on the side and lay out.

PLENTY OF SPEED lost its right hind plate near the 850 Metres.

Throughout the race, PLENTY OF SPEED and GOOD LUCK MAN travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of PLENTY OF SPEED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SNOWHOOVES and EVERYONE'S CHOICE were sent for sampling.
