Standby starter Precision King was gifted a soft lead and had enough in reserve to hold off Cheeky Too for an upset win. He's always a tough one to run down if allowed to dictate his own pace. Cheeky Too stalked the leader in second after jumping well and stayed on gamely to edge favourite Pikachu for second. It was an improved run in cheek pieces and he may be able to get away with a 1,400m or mile race in the not too distant future. Pikachu closed off nicely near the inside after travelling fourth from the rear. The pace was his undoing. Ultimate Glory wasn't far off the placings but did have his chance following a handy run along the fence. He's more a grinding sort and the sit-and-sprint type of raced went against him.

Race Seven: (145)-THE HONG KONG GOLF CLUB CENTENARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1650Metres

PHOTON WILLIE was withdrawn on 29.10.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PRECISION KING (N Rawiller).

Before being allowed to race again, PHOTON WILLIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

TRAVEL FIRST began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of PRECISION KING which shifted out.

Shortly after the start, JOYFUL MOMENTS was crowded for room between SUPEROI and ULTIMATE GLORY which shifted out.

From wide barriers, LAND GRANT, PACKING GENIUS and WINSTON'S LAD were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

At the entrance to the Straight, SUPEROI was shifted out away from the heels of LITTLE DRAGON.

S Clipperton was advised that his riding of SUPEROI in the early part of the Straight had come under notice.

He was further advised to ride his mounts out with sufficient vigour to ensure that his riding is not open to query.

A veterinary inspection of HIGH AND MIGHTY and LAND GRANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

PIKACHU, PRECISION KING and CHEEKY TOO were sent for sampling.
