Anticipation won going away 150m out following a one-off run travelling fore of midfield in his first run of the campaign. It was an overdue win for the honest galloper after filling the placings in seven of 21 prior starts. Favourite Eastern Express burst to the front 200m out following a handy run and found one better on the day. He's another who was having his first run of the term and will again be a live chance when next stepping out. Ishvara finished nicely travelling worse than midfield to get up for a placing. His consistency keeps him at the bottom of Class Two but he'll be hard to beat if he can find his way into Class Three. Star Majestic ran on well after a deep run worse than midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen if he can get back to the Valley over a mile and further. Lucky Girl went too hard after having to work to find the front from a wide gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (130)-BULGARI EXCELLENT HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1800Metres

MCQUEEN began very awkwardly and got its head up on a number of occasions on jumping.

Then despite being ridden along in the early stages, MCQUEEN failed to muster speed.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, TOP ACT failed to muster speed.

UP AND COMING lost ground when crowded for room on jumping by ISHVARA which shifted out.

After this, UP AND COMING was ridden along to improve its position and for some distance approaching and passing the 1600 Metres raced tight inside PACKING LLAREGYB.

From wide barriers, DYNAMISM, RENAISSANCE ART and STAR MAJESTIC were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Shortly after the start, D Whyte (STAR MAJESTIC) lost the use of his right stirrup iron for a short distance.

As D Whyte was adjusting his foot in the stirrup iron, STAR MAJESTIC shifted in, resulting in RENAISSANCE ART being taken in and crowding the room of DYNAMISM.

Approaching the 1500 Metres, MCQUEEN got its head up when proving difficult to settle and after the 1200 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 900 Metres, STAR MAJESTIC was left racing wide and without cover.

When questioned, Z Purton stated that he was instructed to make his run on RENAISSANCE ART before the Home Turn in an attempt to put the horse into the race earlier than in recent starts.

He said whilst RENAISSANCE ART did make some ground rounding the Home Turn, the horse was under heavy pressure and did not quicken as he hoped it would.

He said he rode RENAISSANCE ART out in the early part of the Straight, however, after the 250 Metres the horse became unbalanced in its action and commenced to give ground.

He said therefore he eased it out of the race over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of RENAISSANCE ART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, RENAISSANCE ART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY GIRL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ANTICIPATION and EASTERN EXPRESS were sent for sampling.
