Recap by phillip woo
Don't expect the form to hold up from this race. The out-of-form Bo Duke defied a sharp rise in distance to make all the running from a wide gate for a shock win. Aztec Empire couldn't peg back the winner despite enjoying all favours in the box seat. This run was on the back of weak Valley form in the past. Smart Union was grinding away to fill a placing following a handy run along the fence. Autumn Gold was probably one of the better runs when closed off steadily from the back. He's near a bottom. Favourite Glory Star sat outside the leader but was under pressure a long ways out and came up flat in the final 200m. Po Ching Treasure did get forced off the track rounding the final bend following a prominent run. He's capable of better.
