Racing Incident Report
Race One: (717)-ARBUTHNOT HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Metres
SWEET BEAN was slow to begin.MR VANILLA and OWNERS' GLORY bumped shortly after the start.
MI SAVVY BOY lost its right front plate near the 1750 Metres.
CASA MASTER was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
For some distance approaching and passing the 1300 Metres, SWEET BEAN (C Y Ho) and SMART GUY (K C Leung) raced tight as a result of C Y Ho attempting to shift SWEET BEAN away from the rail.
In this incident, K C Leung shifted his weight in the saddle, which is permissible, in order to prevent SWEET BEAN from shifting ground, however, his right knee was momentarily extended towards SWEET BEAN.
K C Leung was advised that whilst the Stewards encourage competitive riding, there was a limit to the measures he could employ in order to maintain his position.
He was further advised that his riding on this occasion had the potential of breaching the Rules of Racing.
He was told to ensure that no part of his body is extended towards another horse or rider during a race.
Approaching the 600 Metres, HIGH SPEED METRO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OWNERS' GLORY when endeavouring to improve into tight running between that horse and ENDLESS LOVE.
Near the 50 Metres, ENJOY THE GAME (M Chadwick) and MIGHTY WONGCHOY raced tight as a result of ENJOY THE GAME shifting in.
This resulted in M Chadwick not being able to fully utilize the whip.
A veterinary inspection of HIGH SPEED METRO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CASA MASTER, ENJOY THE GAME and MIGHTY WONGCHOY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Casa Master jumped better to settle three deep second from the rear, rushed forward 800m out to lead at the 680m, straightened two lengths on top and drew clear for a first win at his 13th start. Enjoy The Game was ridden hard to stay in touch at the rear from a wide gate, followed the move of Casa Master to sit second 650m out and kept on gamely to finish level with Mighty Wongchoy for the Quinella spot. Mighty Wongchoy hunted forward from a wide gate to dictate the running, was relegated to third along the fence as the race changed complexion 800m out and stayed on reasonably well three deep in the run to the wire. Mr Vanilla travelled fore of midfield along the fence, stayed to the inside upon straightening and ran on steadily to fill a Quartet spot. Mi Savvy Boy punched the breeze outside the leader early on, settled one-out, one-back at the 800m, swung the final bend with one wider out and kept grinding away without menacing. Natural Friendship only held his ground after a prominent run along the fence. Sweet Bean made only a mild bid along the inside after travelling fourth from the rear. High Speed Metro never let down following a one off run travelling beyond midfield. Winning Mascot was struggling 300m out after travelling handy without cover until the 900m.
