Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (704)-THE MANAWATU RACING CLUB CHALLENGE TROPHY (HANDICAP) (Sec2) - Class 3 - 1650Metres
From the outside barriers, MONEY MAN and VICTORIUS were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.When being steadied to obtain cover in the early stages, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle.
Near the 1100 Metres, CLUB LIFE travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions.
Passing the 1000 Metres, VICTORIUS and MONEY MAN both commenced to travel keenly and were awkwardly placed close to the heels of the runner in front.
Approaching the 900 Metres, RED MARVEL shifted out marginally when racing close to the heels of BEST TANGO.
BEST TANGO then commenced to over-race and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT and shifted out, resulting in RED MARVEL being taken wider.
RED MARVEL was then allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead.
Passing the 800 Metres, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT was awkwardly placed behind ULTIMATE GLORY.
Near the 250 Metres, BEST TANGO was eased away from the heels of SO CAFFE which, when shifting to the outside of PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT, was taken out marginally by that horse.
Over the concluding stages, M L Yeung (INVENTOR) dropped his right rein.
INVENTOR lost its left front plate after the race.
INVENTOR and SO CAFFE were sent for sampling.

Inventor settled behind midfield along the fence, straightened three deep in a bit of traffic, switched to the fence 120m out and quickened nicely to get up 30m out for a second straight win despite a return to Class Three. Favourite So Caffe bided his time fourth from the rear from a wide gate, pushed into the open with two wider out upon straightening and finished well to run down Chater Legend for second. Chater Legend was handily ridden along the fence, briefly hit the front four deep at the 100m and was swamped in deep stretch. Club Life grudgingly gave way over the final 100m after assuming the front 200m out following a box-seat run. Ultimate Glory eased back after going forward from a tricky gate to sit one-out, one-back at the 800m, straightened four deep and kept plugging away to finish just out of the top four. Red Marvel made a move from behind midfield to park outside the leader Lovely Delovely at the 800m, took over the lead 250m out and was yielding ground 100m out. Presidentparamount only plodded following a one-off run travelling fore of midfield. Best Tango never fired following a midfield run with cover.
