Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (651)-NG TUNG RIVER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres
When presented in the saddling area, it was noted that STRATEGIC ARMY had swelling over the right front tendon.Acting on advice from the Veterinary Officer that STRATEGIC ARMY was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, STRATEGIC ARMY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
NITRO EXPRESS began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, CONFUCIUS SPIRIT, A BEAUTIFUL and GREAT JOY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CONFUCIUS SPIRIT and MAGIC STAR both made the Home Turn wide after MAGIC STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR KOOL.
A veterinary inspection of MAGIC STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SECRET AGENT, MINT MASTER and GENTILIS were sent for sampling.

Mint Master enjoyed a lovely run after handing up the lead 900m out, eased outside the leader upon straightening and quickened well to win going away 120m out. Early favourite Gentilis pressed forward from a middle gate to eventually clear to the front 850m out, turned the final bend two lengths on top and found one too smart on the day. Posttime favourite Secret Agent made a steady bid five deep following a rails run in midfield to fill a placing. Nitro Express was doing his best work four deep following a patient ride fourth from the rear to fill a Quartet spot. Planet Giant peaked on his run 100m out following a prominent run without cover outside Love Chunghwa from a good gate. Great Joy made ground late near the inside after easing back from a wide gate to travel second from the rear. Love Chunghwa failed to turn it up another gear following a boxseat run with a gear change to a hood. He had no excuses. Punted late Confucius Spirit only got by beaten rivals widest out after travelling third from the rear. Strategic Army was a late scratch.
