Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Glory Horsie saved ground in midfield from a good gate, switched out for a clear run four deep at the 220m and quickened nicely to get up 10m out for the win with a key drop in class and the claim well used. Post-time favourite Great Speed settled behind midfield along the fence following a sluggish break, eased into the open with three wider out soon after straightening and finished up nicely to make it close on the wire. Highland Dragon swung the final bend with one wider out following a one-off run travelling worse than midfield and finished well to snatch a placing close to home. Double Master settled one off the speed in third, pressed to the front 100m out and was swamped in the closing stages. Giddy Giddy was handy without cover, straightened five deep and kept grinding away without menacing. Perfect Smart was hustled into the lead along the fence at the 850m, cornered a half-length on top from Glory Sunshine and was stopping 150m out. Punted late, Glory Sunshine pressed forward from a tricky gate to sit outside the leader 650m out, straightened two deep and was one-paced over the final 200m. Glory Boy was pocketed for a run until the last 100m following a prominent gallop along the fence. He had excuses. Specked late, Gold Precious never ran on after travelling second from the rear from a wide gate.

Race One: (630)-EQUIDIA RACING CHANNEL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Metres

Shortly after the start, SUPER GIFTED was steadied away from the heels of GIDDY GIDDY which shifted out.

Also shortly after the start, SMART GAIN was awkwardly placed outside the heels of EAGLE KING which got its head on the side and shifted out.

Near the 650 Metres, GIDDY GIDDY shifted in and bumped GLORY BOY which became unbalanced.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GLORY HORSIE raced tight inside GLORY BOY which got its head on the side and lay in away from GIDDY GIDDY.

GLORY BOY was badly held up for clear running from shortly after entering the Straight until the concluding stages and consequently was not able to be tested.

Near the 250 Metres, GLORY HORSIE was shifted out abruptly away from the heels of GLORY BOY to obtain clear running.

Passing the 250 Metres, GREAT SPEED was shifted out across the heels of GIDDY GIDDY to obtain clear running.

A veterinary inspection of GLORY SUNSHINE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GLORY HORSIE and GREAT SPEED were sent for sampling.
