Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (572)-THE SPORTS WITHOUT BORDERS HANDICAP (Sec2) - Class 3 - 1200Metres
SMART DELIGHT was withdrawn on 15.4.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right front foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GREED CARD (D Whyte).Before being allowed to race again, SMART DELIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GREEN CARD began only fairly.
SUN TOUCH was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
From wide barriers, ACTUARIAT and TRAVEL AMBASSADOR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1000 Metres, GREEN CARD momentarily raced in restricted room inside APPROVE which raced tight inside CRAIG'S FORTUNE which then shifted out to relieve the tightening.
Then making the turn near the 900 Metres, GREEN CARD and APPROVE again momentarily raced tight inside CRAIG'S FORTUNE.
After the 700 Metres, MR STUNNING was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 300 Metres, GREEN CARD lay in under pressure, resulting in SUN TOUCH being inconvenienced.
Approaching the 50 Metres, SUN TOUCH was awkwardly placed behind FLYING MOOCHI and then passing the 50 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and consequently was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages.
Over the concluding stages, GREEN CARD got its head on the side and lay out.
MR STUNNING and FLYING MOOCHI were sent for sampling.

Raging favourite Mr Stunning settled three deep without cover in midfield from a wide gate, swung the final bend with two wider out and finished well to run down Flying Moochi in deep stretch for a third win from four starts. Flying Moochi wouldn't go down without a fight after cornering a length on top following an uncontested lead with an allimportant 10 pound claimer in play. Debutant Green Card recovered to sit midfield along the fence following sluggish break, came one off upon straightening and closed off reasonably well to grab a placing. Sun Touch travelled worse than midfield along the fence following a tardy break, stayed near the inside upon straightening and ran on steadily to fill a Quartet spot in an encouraging debut. Happy Cooperation swung the final bend five deep following a box-seat run but failed to lift when popped the question in a disappointing effort with a rise in grade off a light weight. Specked late, Lovely Delovely only got by beaten rivals from near the back despite a drop in grade. He's lost his early speed.
