Raging favourite Molly's Jade Star was posted deep near the speed, pressed forward to sit second at the 600m, advanced to the front 200m out and held off the late surge of Prince Falcon for a first win at his 12th start following six bridesmaid performances. Prince Falcon settled one off the fence behind midfield after a slow break, worked into the open 300m out and finished willingly to make it close while overhauling Ah Bo in the final 20m for second. Ah Bo jumped better to land a spot one off the fence in midfield, straightened three deep and stayed on well for a placing. Gentilis set a steady pace while claiming the front from a wide gat 1,200m out, cornered a length on top and was swamped inside the final 100m for a placing. Fashion Maestro straightened four deep after sitting on the back of the speed one off the fence and only plodded in the run to the wire. Treasure And Gold loomed a chance five deep following a prominent run at the 200m and came up flat over the final 150m. Sharp Hunter made some ground without menacing with one wider out after travelling third from the rear from a wide gate. Good Choice but only produced a mild bid when asked for a response despite a drop in grade.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (527)-PLANTATION HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Metres

The Stewards interviewed Trainer K W Lui regarding HAYHAY (P343) being a pre-declaration withdrawal for this race when that horse was treated with Equipalazone and Bykahepar on 29 March 2016.

Also interviewed was Mr C C Chan, Assistant Trainer II allocated to Mr Lui's stable for the current season.

There is a seven day recommended withdrawal period for those medications in respect of a horse being entered to race.

Mr Lui pleaded guilty to a breach of Rule 50(2) in that, as the person responsible for all matters pertaining to the running of his stable, he did arrange for HAYHAY to be entered for this racemeeting within the recommended withdrawal period after being treated.

Mr Lui was fined the sum of $10,000.

Mr Chan was advised that a report regarding his involvement in this matter would be forwarded to Stables Management for their consideration and necessary action.

J Moreira (AH BO) was fined the sum of $3,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into consideration that Jockey Moreira had previously been penalized for a similar offence during this season.

PRINCE FALCON began only fairly.

GENTILIS began awkwardly and then on jumping was bumped by NO LAUGHING MATTER which shifted in.

From the outside barriers, NO LAUGHING MATTER and SHARP HUNTER were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 800 Metres, LUCKY FRIENDS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EQUITY DOCTRINE.

Approaching the 500 Metres, LUCKY SEBRING was steadied when attempting to improve between LUCKY FRIENDS and PRINCE FALCON where there was insufficient room.

In the early part of the Straight, NO LAUGHING MATTER hung in.

For the majority of the race, FAIR WIND travelled wide and without cover.

MOLLY'S JADE STAR and PRINCE FALCON were sent for sampling.
