Prompt Express led from a wide gate, cornered two lengths on top and kept finding for a first win at his 10th start. Argentum settled worse than midfield along the paint, angled into the open four deep at the 150m and finished well to grab favourite Metallic Star in the shadows of the post for second. Favourite Metallic Star had to work from an awkward gate to sit second at the 900m, straightened three deep and was one-paced over the last 100m. He'll be hard to beat if he can draw a gate at this level. Dutch Windmill kept on well following a box-seat run to give the Quartet a tonne of value in a vastly-improved performance. Fashion Maestro was getting going with two wider out after a one-off run travelling behind midfield to just miss a Quartet spot. Liuzhou Warrior ran on without menacing two from the right after going back from the widest gate. Plunged late, Safari Magic made some late progress from the rear of the field.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (389)-LUCKY STAR HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

On entering the track, MI SAVVY BOY reared, resulting in its rider, H W Lai, being dislodged.

MI SAVVY BOY proceeded a short distance riderless before being recaptured.

On arrival at the Start, MI SAVVY BOY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

H W Lai was deemed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

RACINGFORPLEASURE was crowded for room on jumping between DUTCH WINDMILL and HARBOUR VICTORY which shifted out.

FABIO began only fairly.

SAFARI MAGIC was crowded for room on jumping between METALLIC STAR and MI SAVVY BOY which shifted out.

After this, SAFARI MAGIC was ridden along, however, was not able to muster speed.

PROMPT EXPRESS shifted out at the start and bumped LIUZHOU WARRIOR.

Then from the outside barrier, LIUZHOU WARRIOR was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.

Shortly after the start, ARGENTUM was crowded for room between IMPERIAL SEAL and MI SAVVY BOY, both of which shifted ground.

METALLIC STAR was ridden along for some distance in the early stages to cross runners to its inside.

Making the turn near the 900 Metres, HARBOUR VICTORY shifted out towards the heels of STAR OF BOND.

After the 900 Metres, IMPERIAL SEAL was left racing wide and without cover and then in the Straight gave ground.

In the early part of the Straight, DUTCH WINDMILL got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

Passing the 300 Metres, MASSIVE MOVE was shifted out away from the heels of HARBOUR VICTORY.

Close to the finishing line, DUTCH WINDMILL, which continued to lay in under pressure, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PROMPT EXPRESS.

A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL SEAL immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a minor wound to the outside of the left hind coronet.

A veterinary inspection of FABIO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

METALLIC STAR, PROMPT EXPRESS and ARGENTUM were sent for sampling.
