Post-time favourite My Darling settled behind the leading group three off the stands side, quickened to the front 150m out and drew clear in an exciting debut. Fish N'Chips settled a length away in sixth on the grandstand side, advanced to the front 280m out and found one too good. Diamond Bit finished off strongly to make it close for second after travelling third from the rear following a bump at the break in an eye-catching debut. Supreme Flight ran on steadily to finish a non-threatening fourth after a prominent run near the stands. Sea Warrior made a steady bid without menacing after settling worse than midfield three off the stands side from a tough gate. Invisible made some ground from the tail of the field after shifting to the centre of the course following a stands side run. Art Of Success led or shared the lead until giving ground 300m out. Amazing Always got going without ever looking a chance after travelling second from the rear over an unsuitable trip. Real Fit was gone 350m out after sharing the front. Early favourite Packing Pegasus was gone 200m out after travelling without cover on the far side from a tough gate in a five-horse battle for the front.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (378)-MUT WAH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

DIAMOND BIT lost ground when badly crowded for room on jumping between AMAZING ALWAYS and SEA WARRIOR, both of which shifted ground.

In this incident, SEA WARRIOR became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by DIAMOND BIT.

ART OF SUCCESS lost its left front plate in the early stages.

After the 400 Metres, SUPER SPRINTER shifted out marginally and bumped GLORY HORSIE, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

Approaching the 200 Metres, MAJOR CONNECTION raced in restricted room outside REAL FIT which got its head on the side and lay out when giving ground.

Passing the 200 Metres, AMAZING ALWAYS was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SMART GAIN after being disappointed for running between that horse and PACKING PEGASUS which was giving ground.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of PACKING PEGASUS, which was having its first race start, Z Purton stated that the horse showed good speed in the early stages as it had done in its barrier trials leading up to today's race.

He said the horse travelled strongly in the early and middle stages, however, came off the bridle passing the 400 Metres.

He said in its barrier trials PACKING PEGASUS had responded well when asked for an effort, however, today, despite being ridden out, PACKING PEGASUS did not respond and was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened out of the race.

He added over the concluding stages PACKING PEGASUS did not feel comfortable in its action, however, the horse was well beaten at this time.

Trainer A Schurz stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of PACKING PEGASUS as he anticipated a forward showing based on its barrier trials.

He said since PACKING PEGASUS' last trial on 5 January 2016, the horse had done well and pleased him in the manner in which it had progressed.

A veterinary inspection of PACKING PEGASUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of PACKING PEGASUS, one of the favoured runners for this race, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, PACKING PEGASUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of REAL FIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MY DARLING and FISH N' CHIPS were sent for sampling.
