Favourite Mr Stunning travelled fourth from the rear from a wide gate, peeled widest out at the 300m and flew home to run down Mr Right in the shadows of the post for an impressive debut win. Mr Right settled one off the fence in fourth, advanced to the front and kept on nicely. Trendiful travelled midfield from a wide gate, angled into the open at the 300m and closed off well to finish third. St Yazin was doing his best work late following a patient ride to fill a quartet spot. Ocean Roar settled a distant second, moved to a narrow lead at the 200m and was stopping 150m out. Heavenly Masters made a mild bid four deep following a one-off run in midfield. Gentilis only held his ground following a rails run in midfield. Heavily punted King Winsa was never a factor after travelling near the rear. Lyric Ace cleared to the front from a wide gate and stopped badly after settling a good pace. Noble Buddies dumped his rider leaving the paddock and was withdrawn.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (370)-LAMBETH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

Z Purton (GENTILIS) was fined the sum of $2,000 for presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.

When entering the track from the Parade Ring, NOBLE BUDDIES took charge and made heavy contact with the inside running rail, resulting in its rider, D Whyte, being dislodged.

NOBLE BUDDIES then galloped for a considerable distance riderless.

Acting on advice from Veterinary Officer that NOBLE BUDDIES was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE BUDDIES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

This incident resulted in NOBLE BUDDIES taking some time to be recaptured and for D Whyte to be considered suitable to be cleared from the track.

During this time, TRENDIFUL cast its right front plate, requiring the horse to be reshod.

After being replated, TRENDIFUL was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

These incidents combined resulted in a considerable delay to the start of this race.

GENTILIS was slow to begin and shifted out near the heels of OCEAN ROAR to avoid ADVENTURER which shifted out abruptly.

On jumping, PLAIN BLUE BANNER was badly hampered and MR STUNNING, ST YAZIN and HEAVENLY MASTERS were inconvenienced when crowded for room between KING WINSA and TRENDIFUL, both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the 900 Metres, when being steadied behind runners, MR STUNNING was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TRENDIFUL which shifted in.

After this, TRENDIFUL was then shifted across behind runners.

Making the turn near the 550 Metres, ADVENTURER got its head on the side and was checked after shifting out towards the heels of OCEAN ROAR.

Near the 450 Metres, GENTILIS and HEAVENLY MASTERS raced tight.

A veterinary inspection of GENTILIS immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, GENTILIS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of LYRIC ACE immediately following the race confirmed the horse to have bled from both nostrils.

MR STUNNING and MR RIGHT were sent for sampling.
